2020 Eclipse Cross – Safety is Standard!
Posted on March 16, 2020
The 2020 Eclipse Cross has received the highest-possible overall score during the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)’s crash testing. The 5-Star Overall Safety Rating shows the dedication Mitsubishi has to providing safe and reliable vehicles to consumers. NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program or NCAP for short, has set the standard for over 30 years. It’s worth noting that both the front-wheel drive AND the all-wheel drive variations of the Eclipse Cross received a 5-star rating.
Scoring five out of five stars on the passenger side frontal-crash test and performing well in all categories of the evaluation. Earning five out of five in the combined side crash ratings and four out of five stars in the rollover test.
Entering the 2020 model years, the Eclipse Cross increased availability of driver assistance systems and an expansion of trim configurations. In an effort for added handling and ruggedness, the Active Yaw Control system maximizes traction and driver confidence.
The SE and SEL trims of the Eclipse Cross offer easier access to important driver assistance systems, with standard-equipment Forward-Collision Mitigation (FCM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Automatic High Beams (AHB).
NHTSA's NCAP program conducts hundreds of crash tests across multiple makes and models each year to evaluate a vehicle's crashworthiness, availability and effectiveness of safety equipment and to help consumers make smart decisions about safety when purchasing a vehicle.
The 2020 Eclipse Cross also comes backed by Mitsubishi's warranty of 5 year 100k km new vehicle limited, 10 year 160k km powertrain, and 5 year unlimited km roadside assistance.
